Death by Strep Throat?  

Though today strep throat is now very treatable, but long ago death from strep throat was very common. In dirty conditions and places were bacteria can full develop death from any disease is possible. Mozart is said to have died from complications from strep throat.

History of Strep Throat

Scientists have concluded that Strep Throat has been around from the 5th century. One of the first reported cases was that of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Strep throat was first discovered by Anton Van Leeuwenhoek. The bacteria that causes strep throat and what ulimatly causes strep throat was discovered in 1904 by Friedrich Reinhardt Strep. The disease was named after him.
